BBV - Lesley - Peregrinations

Quelle Blogueuse bordelaise es-tu?

An English-speaking blogger! I'm originally from Scotland but I've lived in Bordeaux for the past twenty-something years and started blogging in 2005 (Peregrinations). I love Bordeaux ..... most of the time.

I'd be pommes sarladaises -  simple and delicious.

There's a long history of wine-trading between Bordeaux and Scotland and Ireland. So with that in mind, if I was a white wine I'd be a Château Brown and if I was a red wine perhaps a Château Smith Haut-Lafitte.

I'd be a different restaurant for different occasions: Le Vieux Bordeaux for a celebration, I love its old-fashioned décor and service;  Elio's Ristorante for a relaxed meal of Sardinian specialities, and the wine bar at the CIVB for very civilised drinks and a plate of cured hams.

I'd be the quays: from one end right to the other.

Si tu étais une expression bordelaise tu serais...?

I'm constantly telling my children not to say "gavé" this and "gavé" that, but secretly I'd really quite like to use the expression myself. (I also like hearing people refer to gutters as rigoles).

Ton anecdote bordelaise favorite?

I used to do all my shopping at the famous Halles Lagrue in the rue Sainte Catherine. They had an excellent wine section and one day a man walked in and asked where he might find the Burgundy wines. The shop assistant pointed to a dark corner of the store and replied dismissively "Les vins étrangers sont par là-bas, monsieur."

Merci à Lesley pour cette BBV
